In 2005, founder and owner Dustin Robison launched his line of Monster Sak bean bags – the highest quality and most comfortable foam bag furniture on the planet for less than half the price of competitors. With Monster Saks exploding in popularity, the natural direction of the business was to branch off into several other categories of home furniture under the name Furnish It. Since 2009, we’ve been offering a huge selection of name brand furniture at prices that are, on average, 30% less than what a typical furniture store charges.
We at Furnish It offer top quality products and customer service that goes beyond, because we understand that you want the most bang for your buck when investing your hard earned money on furniture that will bring beauty and comfort to your home.
The truth is that we strive to create a business environment where everybody goes home a winner. We want you to take home amazing furniture at prices that you’ll brag to your friends about. At the same time, we want our team to earn a comfortable living for the hard work they put in (otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to keep our doors open). Most important, our mission is to help less fortunate families in dire living circumstances improve their quality of life throughout the world…especially 3rd world countries.
In 2010, we donated over 20% of our profits to charitable causes. In South America, we helped one family increase their income over 1000% by donating all the necessary equipment and funds to help start a small business. When an individual can go from earning $5 a day to over $50 a day, the quality of life improves dramatically.
In 2011, we were also fortunate enough to help the Vasquez Guzman family of Pucallpa, Peru by building them a brand new brick home. This wonderful family of 10 was living in a tiny stick hut that only measured about 15’ x 20’, and it was literally falling apart. The tin roof & dirt floor home consisted of only two rooms (a kitchen/living room area and a sleeping area) with no running water, no bathroom, and only one small electrical outlet that powered a single light bulb and a small television set. Most Americans wouldn’t even park their lawn mower in the small hut that the Vasquez family called home. The economic conditions of Peru have made it difficult for this family to progress financially, but we have been fortunate enough to be in a situation where we could help out. In March of 2011, we built them a brick home with concrete floors, bedrooms, running water, and an indoor bathroom while helping them open their own restaurant to increase their income.
Thanks to our customers and generous donations from other caring individuals, we have been able to change the lives of several poverty stricken people, and we hope to continue doing so. With each Furnish It/Monster Sak location, we hope to improve the financial situation of a family in need every year by donating a large percentage of our profits to building homes and helping individuals create additional streams of income for themselves. As our business grows, we sincerely wish to expand our humanitarian efforts and provide relief on a larger level. At the end of 2012 and beginning of 2014, additional humanitarian trips were made to Peru. Most recently, in our January 2014 trip, we donated mattresses to 106 different homes in an effort to help people who sleep on wooden planks or dirt floors to have the basic furniture for a good night’s rest.
We are not a non-profit organization, but buying furniture at Furnish It/Monster Sak does contribute to a charitable cause by helping us fund these humanitarian missions. If you are interested in donating or participating in our efforts, please email us for more information.
